Southside Women’s Services: A Medical Team That Cares About You.

What Is Required to Be a Licensed Medical Clinic?

Being a medical clinic means more than just offering services. It means meeting strict standards to keep patients safe and supported. Clinics must have licensed medical professionals on staff, a doctor providing oversight, and follow all state health regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA).

In Illinois, this means every medical professional must be licensed, certified, and in good standing with the state to provide care.

How Southside Women’s Services Meets These Standards.

At Southside Women’s Services, your care is handled by trained, licensed medical staff who stay up to date on current best practices and evolving medical standards through ongoing education and training.

We operate under the guidance of a Licensed Medical Director, ensuring all medical services, including diagnostic testing, meet state standards.

meet these standards

Every part of your visit is guided by clear Policies and Procedures (P&P) to ensure safe, professional, and consistent care.

Who Makes Up Our Medical Team?

Here’s a closer look at who you’ll meet:

Registered Nurse (RN): Our RN performs urine-based pregnancy testing, conducts thorough health assessments, and provides clear, fact-based guidance on pregnancy, options, abortion, and STIs.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS): Our certified sonographers are trained and certified to perform ultrasound exams, both abdominal and transvaginal/intrauterine, with precision and care.

Medical Doctor Radiologist (MD): Every ultrasound scan is carefully reviewed and signed off by our Radiologist to ensure accuracy and the highest quality of care.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO): Our Medical Director is a licensed DO, a fully trained physician who combines medical expertise with a holistic approach. Our DO can diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform surgeries. They oversee all medical charts, review procedures, and ensure our Policies & Procedures are always up to date, so you receive safe, professional care every step of the way.
